Feeding – Month 2 – 4 I used to feed Cleo every 4 hours, nights included. It would be mostly Milk and Cerelac dominated food. Eat and Pee was the matra until the 4th month was complete. The slowly I introduced her to rice and Royal Canin. Royal Canin, Labrador Puppy was prescribed for her. This is available only in 3kg packaging, costing Rs. 950. Though a little expensive, it is worth the spend. It gives an all round development for your puppy. It takes care of weight, coat, bone structure and everything else that moulds your pup into a good canine. I gave Cleo only 3 kgs and then stopped it and put her on Pedigree after that. Iam one of those people who believe in feeding the dog home food and give Pedigree / Royal Canin as supplements. The reasons are varied. Right from the expense to the fact that some dogs that have been fed with only these speciality dog food, end up becoming obese. Please note this is not the case for all dogs, but just an observation.

Slowly I introduced her to Marie Biscuits and bread. Always mixed/soaked with milk.

Month 4-6 I introduced her to rice. The feeding became lesser in frequency, 5 times a day.
7am – Ragi porridge with milk
10am – Marie biscuits with milk
1pm – Rice mixed with any curry (make sure it is not spicy)/ egg / chicken
5pm – Pedigree sometimes with bread or biscuits
10pm – Rice and milk / curry / egg / chicken

Month 6-8 The frequency reduced to 3 times a day

8am – Ragi porridge with milk
2pm - Rice mixed with any curry (make sure it is not spicy)/ egg / chicken
9pm - Rice and milk / curry / egg / chicken
You can throw in Pedigree once in a while, may be around 5pm

Month 9 onwards

From the 9th month I started Cleo on an adult diet

8.30am – Ragi with milk or curd
7.30pm – Rice and milk / curry / egg / chicken
I try and give her chicken every alternate day and dog biscuits and treats during the day.

Once a week, I buy goat legs, which are easily available. Iam unsure if it has any other name. But usually the butcher cuts the legs and burns them to get rid of the hair. I give it to her to chew on once in a week.
